I recently made a batch of homemade sauerkraut. Then I went on to bake some bread and I am days away from enjoying some homemade gingerbeer. There is nothing like getting a new cookbook to launch some culinary adventures.

Of all of the cooking and bubbling that has happened, I am most pleased with the sauerkraut. We used purple cabbage so the sauerkraut is a beautiful magenta colour. I could eat bowl after bowl, certainly not something to attempt with raw cabbage if you live with people you like. Also not something I’ve ever done with store bought sauerkraut. So good and so good for you. Yum.
